Washing a car is similar to washing dishes... you can rinse them under the tap and they may appear clean but when they dry you might notice they have a greasy film or streaks; clean with a sponge or cloth first and you're guaranteed to have shiny clean dishes.. that's because the sponge creates friction.
Friction from our hog-hair brush moves the road film, grease, mud and dirt off your car like the sponge moves food scraps and grease off your plates. As the foaming soap constantly moves through the brush the dirt it collects off your car moves with it to ensure that as you clean you're not rubbing the dirt and foreign objects it collects back across your paint. The hog-hair brushes are designed to provide a constant stream of clean soap and minimise the risk of scrathes that can occur if you use a sponge or cloth where the dirt you clean off your car remains there as you continue to clean.
Our touch-free 360+ Laser washes use a different high-pressure method of cleaning. We apply two different soaps (one low PH to attach dirt and mud and one high PH to attract grease and road film) then, after a short time to dwell, it is rinsed with fresh high-pressure water blasting away the soap along with the mud, grease etc. This method of cleaning is time efficient and really easy and is great for maintainig a great clean car BUT the manufacturers highly recommend that every 4-5 washes you apply friction using the hog-hair brush in the self serve bays.
Here's why...
As you drive, road film such as tar, petrol, grease and oil flick up off our dirty roads onto your car. This film builds up slowly over time and will affect mainly the wheel rims, bumpers and lower half of your car doors. Depending on how much and how long the film has been there, the high-pressure clean will move some of this film off the car but with-out FRICTION your car can sometimes dry with greasy marks or a white hazy film. Just like your dishes, the longer you leave them before washing the harder it is to rinse off dryed on food, grease and sauces by just running them under the tap (with-out using a sponge... for FRICTION).
So here's what to do.
Every 4-6 weeks drive into the self serve bay before your laser wash visit. Apply the pre-soak using the spray gun then apply the foaming soap to the car using the hog-hair foaming brush directly over the pre-soak. Pay close attendion to the bumpers, front grill, wheel rims and bottom half of the car doors. This process should only take 2-3 mins ($2-3 depending on the size of your car). Once the foaming soap is applied LEAVE IT ON and drive around to the laser wash entry and wash your car as normal. Don't forget to leave the windshield clear so you can see when your driving. This applies FRICTION to the car before the touch-free laser wash and by working together your car will wash up amzingly with only a minimal effort. This pre-wash is recommended (approximately) every 4 laser wash entries but how often you use it is completely up to you.
